Bio

Dustin is the new kid on the block. Brought on in early 2025 as UX/UI Designer he hopes to use his size 13s to fill the big shoes previously filled by IET standout Anthony Horn. While technically the new kid at IET, he has history with UCD as a member of the Marketing Team at the UC Davis School of Law and as a writer at the Aggie as an undergrad.  He received a BA in English from UC Davis with special focus on creative writing and teaching. While his writing efforts culminated in the co-authoring of the book "Education Corruption in the State of California", he still has dreams about that book idea he has tucked away in cold storage.

But after nearly starving to death as an unemployed creative writer after college, he shifted his career focus and moved to the Bay Area. He worked in the Silicon Valley where he could actually make a living, and settled in as a technical writer and web designer/developer. He is truly a Jack-of-Trades working a number of unique jobs, including corporate mascot, Honky Tonk bouncer, tide pool interpreter, commercial urchin diver, and ghost writer. Embodying the lifestyle of a digital Ronin, he has a breadth of experience working in many industries as well, including stints with Startups, Non-Profits, Agencies, Enterprise, Government, and Higher Education. He describes himself as a "human Swiss Army knife", bringing a wide range of skills and acronyms in his bag of holding, such as IA, AI, UI, UX, CX, DX, HCD, HTML, CSS, CMS, CRM, LMS, SEO, LAMP, GCP, PSD, PDF, CI/CD, W3C, WFH, KPI, and MVP.

He discovered Drupal and open source Content Management Systems over 15 years ago, coming for the code, and staying as a dedicated member of the Sacramento Area Drupal Community ever since. A firm believer in Venn diagrams and Ikigai, Dustin has finally come full circle and is embracing the opportunity to truly collaborate with his Drupal mentors and give back to his alma mater as a member of the SiteFarm team.
