P E T I T is a multidisciplinary consortium at UC Davis with backgrounds in mechanical and aerospace engineering, neuroengineering, neuroscience, neurobiology, biomedical engineering, physical and occupational therapy, prostheses, physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopaedic surgery and plastic surgery. Our unified goal is to help our limb loss patients attain prosthesis embodiment: the consideration of a prosthesis not as a mere extension of the body, but instead as a part of the patient's self and identity.
