CAES

Center for Aquatic Biology and Aquaculture

CABA was established to provide leadership, focus, and support to University of California Davis researchers in addressing problems associated with California’s cultured and wild aquatic biological resources.

Pittelkow Lab

The Pittelkow Law is part of the Department of Plant Sciences with a focus on Agronomy and Agroecosystems. Our work seeks to increase crop productivity while reducing the environmental footprint of agriculture.

Coffee Center

The UC Davis Coffee Center is the first multidisciplinary university research center to address the challenges and needs of the coffee industry through a holistic approach to coffee science and education.

Department of Entomology and Nematology

Our scientists investigate a very broad range of fundamental questions involving insects, nematodes, and spiders -- and the plants, microbes, and various animals they interact with. Our department also disseminates practical knowledge resulting from these investigations, such as methods of integrated pest management, with the goal of improving agriculture and the environment for California and beyond.

Managed Retreat

Managed retreat is broadly defined as the relocation of structures or abandonment of land to manage natural-hazard risk.  Managed retreat is entering widening discussion as flooding, coastal erosion, and sea-level rise increasingly threaten human lives and property worldwide.

Plant and Environmental Informatics Lab

Our lab seeks to better understand plant systems through the lens of remote sensing and environmental informatics. We are interested in the mechanisms controlling the way photons bounce off or come from plants, and use this to inform our understanding of ecosystem health, productivity, and stress.

MASWheat

The goal of this site is to increase the competitiveness of public wheat breeding programs through the intensive use of modern selection technologies, mainly Marker Assisted Selection (MAS).
